The use of the official languages is a sensitive issue: people
ricognise their identity in their own national language and ignoring it
could make ordinary people feel that their national or regional identities
are
being diluted within a standardised EU.
Knowing foreign languages facilitates working, studying and
travelling across Europe and allows intercultural communication. At present
English remains the most widely spoken foreign language throughout Europe.
With
23 official languages and high annual translation costs,
some people question if EU is lost in translation. What

Nonostante io sia favorevole ad una piena integrazione europea, devo però riconoscere che l'UE OFFRE TANTE OPPORTUNITA' A CHI HA LA FORTUNA DI PARLARE LA LINGUA GIUSTA (inglese, francese o tedesco). Per noi italiani diventa tutto molto più difficile, soprattutto lavorare all'estero. Certamente le lingue si possono imparare, ma a quale costo? Purtroppo, visto il fallimento dell'insegnamento delle lingue straniere nel sistema scolastico italiano, al povero giovane che vorrebbe lavorare in un altro paese europeo non resta altro che pagare di tasca propria (anzi, della famiglia!) costosi corsi, oppure, se si tratta di uno studente universitario, tentare la strada dell'esperienza Erasmus... ma anche Erasmus, per quanto utilissimo, è qualcosa che al momento non tutti possono permettersi. La borsa di studio Erasmus non è assolutamente sufficiente per riuscire a mantenersi e a studiare all'estero. Purtroppo la competitività nel mondo del lavoro è molto elevata ... cosa proponete per uscire da questa situazione?
